EMC compliance, from first design to final approval
Getting a product to market means navigating EMC requirements that vary by market, standard, and application. Without the right technical input early, compliance issues surface late — causing redesigns, testing delays, and missed launch windows.
ETS is an independent, UKAS-accredited EMC testing, calibration, and advisory body with over 25 years of experience. Testing, troubleshooting, antenna calibration, and regulatory guidance are all available from a single team that's part of the broader NMi Group ecosystem.

WHAT WE DO
EMC isn't a single test at the end of development. Requirements vary by market, standard, and product type — and decisions made early in design have a direct bearing on whether compliance testing succeeds first time. ETS provides testing, calibration, advisory, and troubleshooting across the full product lifecycle, from initial design review through to market approval.
EMC CERTIFICATION
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is critical for many products and components. ETS helps bring embedded and wireless technology to market – navigating complex requirements and certifying compliance with relevant standards, including ATEX.
EMC TESTING
Our UKAS-accredited facility (schedule 4416) delivers compliance and pre-compliance testing across most product groups. Services include on-site testing, production audits, and EMC site surveys. RTCA testing is available on a pre-compliance basis.
ADVISORY & DESIGN REVIEW
Identifying EMC issues early avoids costly redesigns and delays. ETS acts as your technical partner, offering technical reviews, PCB layout assessments, regulatory guidance and expert EMC advice.
EMC TROUBLESHOOTING
EMC compliance can be challenging when getting your product to market. ETS provide dedicated troubleshooting support – investigating causes and recommending design or configuration changes to achieve the standards you need.
SECTORS WE SUPPORT
RAIL
We ensure EMC compliance for equipment used across the rail network – including rolling stock, signalling, power connections and communications. ETS fully supports standards critical to the railway sectors, including EN 50121-2, EN 50121-3-1, EN 50121-3-2, EN 50121-4 and EN 50121-5.

AUTOMOTIVE
We help test and certify that vehicles (and components) are safe, dependable and compliant with the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA). ETS provides full support within the automotive lifecycle - helping engineers and compliance managers meet the requirements for approval under VCA frameworks including (EU/UKCA) UN Regulation No. 10.06.
INDUSTRIAL
Industrial environments can be hazardous, making EMC compliance critical for safety. ETS help ensure equipment is robust, compliant and suitable for use in demanding settings, including those governed by the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.

MEDICAL
In hospitals, patient safety is paramount – making EMC compliance essential. ETS supports compliance with medical EMC standards that guarantee safety and performance, including (EU/UKCA) EN 60601-1-2 (IEC 60601-1-2).
